Thank you for all the donations received towards the Zambia Covid-19 Fund!

Zambians in Australia led by Ms Cecilia Mutokwa Masumba-Hamukale working with OZALIWA (Organisation of Zambians Living in Western Australia) held a number of successful fundraising events aimed raising funds to send medical equipment to Zambia.

By September 2021, the team had received  through donations 10 oxygen cylinders, 22 mechanical ventilators with consumables and raised $2000 in cash! Their aim is to complete phase 1 of fundraising in the first week of November 2021 and to send the equipment to Zambia by the third week of November 2021.

Following the fundraising dinner dance event in Perth,  Cecilia approached First Quantum Minerals Ltd (FQML) for sponsorship. FQML have kindly stepped in with a pledge of $50,000 to cover shipping cost, container and securing equipment!

The equipment had been in storage for months (paid for by Cecilia) while funds were being raised for shipment. FQML will transfer the equipment from its current storage to keep securely in their storage facilities.
